Day 3 of my Christmas run streak saw me hit Parkrun Christmas Day, I think it is great that an extra one is put on for Christmas and with a record of 212 runners at Maldon it would appear I am not the only one. A few runners dressed up in Christmas outfits (no, I was not one of them 🙄) and I think for most people it is a social run to enjoy with friends.
The idea was that a group of us stuck together, this is actually easier said than done when there are so many runners. Throughout the majority of the run I was with at least one other from our group, it was lovely to have a chat and enjoy the social side 😊.
As it was Christmas I decided to wear my new Asics Gel-Cumulus 19 trainers I had treated myself to, I can’t say it was as comfortable or smooth as I was hoping for. Although I have been wearing Cumulus for a while now this version is the newest one out and changes have been made from the 18’s. I can’t say I am a fan of these changes, the ankle is a lot stiffer and actually caused some rubbing on just a 5k alone. They are heavier than my previous pair and I do appreciate they will take some wearing in but they were so stiff. I can already tell you these are not PB trainers so for the sake of my 2018 goals I think I need to go shopping 🤦🏻♀️. I hate the fact you can’t try before you buy with trainers, I feel like I’m just throwing my money away 😤.
